A high-quality, vintage-style thangka print of Dharma Protector Setrap, the wrathful emanation of Buddha Amitabha, who is extremely efficacious for clearing obstacles towards our spiritual practice. He grants protection from black magic. Having an image of him close to us or in our homes bestows immense blessings and protection on our surroundings and ourselves.

At the left top corner sits Lama Tsongkhapa and The Buddha of Infinite Light, Amitabha sits at the top right corner in a meditative pose with a begging bowl. This is a reproduction of a holy Setrap thangka that belongs to H.E. Tsem Rinpoche, which has shown miraculous signs in the past.

  • Available in a choice of materials and sizes.
  • As each print is made-to-order, this item will be shipped within 7-10 working days from the date of purchase.
  • The finished item may vary slightly from the listed sizes as the height and width are based on the size of the original art piece.

This thangka can be enhanced with a traditional brocade frame to increase merits and blessings. We offer thangka sewing services with a choice of fabrics in various materials and colours to suit your style and budget.

About Setrap

Setrap is the wrathful emanation of Amitabha Buddha and the main Dharma Protector of Gaden Monastery founded by Lama Tsongkhapa 600 years ago. Fierce yet deeply compassionate, he grants powerful protection against negative energies, spirit disturbances and black magic, and provides swift assistance to overcome our worldly and spiritual obstacles. His practice also brings success, harmony and peace to anyone who invokes his blessings.

He sits astride a horse, dressed in armour and wearing headgear adorned with five flags. In his right hand, he brandishes a wooden club and in his left, he holds a noose which binds the 'enemy'. This wrathful imagery is symbolic of his swift ability to assist Dharma practitioners along the spiritual path.
