A handcrafted metal kapala (skull cup) with Tibetan-style carvings on the cover and stand. It is most commonly used as a vessel for the practitioner's 'inner offering', made from either alcohol or black tea mixed with nectar pills. It can also be used to hold ritual cakes and other tantric offerings.
The kapala is an essential ritual object for anyone engaging in higher tantric practices such as Yamantaka, Kalachakra, Chakrasamvara or Vajrayogini. Practitioners who aspire to advance to practices such as these should also keep a kapala as part of their ritual set for auspicious reasons.
