Celebrate Wesak by becoming a sponsor of our special Wesak Day pujas (Lama Chopa puja, Heart Sutra puja) and create a stream of merits for you and your loved ones.

Our sangha and pastors will dedicate the merits according to your wishes during our Wesak Day prayers at Kechara Forest Retreat. You can sponsor Saga Dawa pujas too for even more merits during Saga Dawa Month.

Wesak Offering Service

  • Wesak offerings and dedication of merits will be performed on your behalf during the Wesak Festival at Kechara Forest Retreat.
  • Saga Dawa pujas will be performed on your behalf by June 25 (Wed), the last day of the Month of Merits.
  • This is an offering service and no product will be shipped.

Requesting a Service

  1. Set a positive intention before requesting the offering service. The purer your intention, the greater the merit generated.
  2. Select your desired offering quantity, size and style (where applicable).
  3. In the “Sponsor” section: Provide the name of the sponsor (benefactor).
  4. In the “Dedication” section: Provide the name of the person/entity the offering is dedicated to. You can include a specific wish or request. Our sangha/pastors will dedicate the merits according to your wishes.
  5. After submitting your offering service request, rejoice and dedicate the merits.
  6. We will inform you by email once your offering has been fulfilled.

About Wesak Day

Wesak is the most important day of the year for Buddhists everywhere. It’s so significant because this day commemorates three momentous events in Buddha’s life — his birth, enlightenment and parinirvana.

In the Tibetan tradition, Wesak is akin to the holy day of Saga Dawa Duchen, which falls on the 15th day of the 4th lunar month. Tibetan Buddhists believe that on this day, the merits of our actions are hugely increased by 100,000 times!

That’s why Wesak is a time for us to make extra efforts to practice more generosity, virtue, compassion, better temperament, and conduct, in order to accumulate greater merit. This is typically achieved by observing precepts, taking vows, visiting the temple, and making abundant offerings.

About Shakyamuni Buddha

The Awakened One, Buddha Shakyamuni, is the prince who gave up the comforts of royal life to seek the truth. He was born Prince Siddhartha Gautama over 2,500 years ago. As an infant, holy men predicted that he would become a world-conquering ruler or a great saint. His father King Suddhodana provided every luxury to prevent him from a spiritual calling, but Siddhartha wasn't satisfied.

Venturing outside the palace, he saw old age, sickness and death. Overwhelmed by the suffering of the world, and spurred by his great love for all beings, Siddhartha gave up his kingdom and embarked on a journey of spiritual discovery. After a long search for the truth, he achieved full enlightenment under the Bodhi tree and eventually founded Buddhism — one of the world's greatest faiths.

By employing diverse skilful means, Buddha taught 84,000 methods to enlightenment, to suit all possible dispositions and spiritual levels of his students. Spiritual practice, as he taught it, was not mere words but a living example to inspire his disciples then and even now.
