Endowed with the 32 marks of a divine steed, the Precious Horse is said to be so swift that he is able to circle the entire Buddhist continent of Jambudvipa three times in a day. His body is usually white and adorned with gold and jewels. He has a perfect form, a soft mane of 10,000 knots and a long flowing tail. He is often depicted with a precious jewel on his saddle, sending blessings to all beings throughout space.
The Precious Horse is part of the Seven Royal Emblems which are the seven possessions of a universal monarch (Chakravartin). Collectively symbolising secular power, they are one of the traditional offerings on a Buddhist altar. From a spiritual perspective, they represent boundless wisdom, inexhaustible spiritual resources and invincible spiritual power over inner and outer obstacles.
