A traditional Tibetan loose-leaf scripture of Setrap’s fulfilment ritual (kangso), which is performed every month in Gaden Monastery. It is an auspicious addition to any altar or shrine room to create a connection with Setrap, who is the wrathful emanation of Buddha Amitabha and one of the Dharma Protectors of Kechara.

Best kept in a traditional cloth wrap or brocade for protection and as a sign of deep respect.

About Dharma Texts and Scriptures

Dharma texts represent the Buddha’s immaculate speech, which can bring us all the way to enlightenment. When we venerate a Dharma text or scripture, we create the causes to achieve a Buddha’s enlightened speech complete with its 60 qualities. It also creates the causes for us to realise the inner and subtle meanings of the teachings, which are the foundation of our attainments.

Dharma texts also help calm the environment and the people living there. Buddha himself stated that wherever there is a holy Dharma text, protective deities will be present to protect the scripture and its surroundings.

For this reason, Dharma texts are a necessary item on all Tibetan Buddhist altars, and are traditionally placed on the left side of the shrine for daily veneration.

About Setrap
