A handcrafted antique-finish copper Enlightenment Stupa which represents the Buddha’s limitless holy mind. Also known as Jangchub Chorten, it is the second of the Eight Great Stupas that symbolise eight great events in the life of Buddha Shakyamuni. As its name implies, it represents the historical Buddha's achievement of Enlightenment at the age of 35, after sitting in meditation for 49 days under a pipal tree at Bodhgaya, India.
The Enlightenment Stupa's most distinctive feature is the four unadorned square steps sitting atop a square base in the form of a lion throne. The top is adorned by a parasol with thirteen descending "rings" below while the centre features a square balcony-like structure atop a vase-shaped body.
The hollow interior can be filled with sacred items such as holy pills, precious relics, mantras and other blessed objects. Place on the altar, in the shrine room or meditation area for daily veneration.
