A genuine hand-beaten full moon singing bowl for use in meditation sessions, sound healing or to symbolise the offering of sound on a Buddhist altar. Made from seven-metal alloy which includes gold, silver, copper, iron, tin, mercury and lead, it produces a deep, rich and enduring sound that calms the mind and uplifts the spirit. The side of the bowl is engraved with Dorje Shugden's mantra of healing and protection — OM BENZA WIKI BITANA SOHA.

Genuine full moon singing bowls are rare as they are handmade only once a month directly under the light of the full moon and further consecrated on full moon night with prayers performed by Tibetan Buddhist monks.

They are said to harness the energy of the moon to produce subtle healing vibrations that can improve the energy in the surrounding area. Can be used in combination with holy items and protective amulets to fill your space with positive energies and the blessings of the Buddhas.

Does not come with cushion, ringing stick or mallet. Singing bowl accessories can be purchased separately if desired.

* As each item is handcrafted, variations in shape, colour and finishing may occur from piece to piece. These do not impact its spiritual function and benefits.

About Singing Bowls

Singing bowls are a magical combination of art, science, spirituality and sound. For centuries, Buddhists and the spiritual at heart have used singing bowls as a meditation aid, as a form of healing therapy, and as an offering to the Buddhas.

Energy healing practitioners employ singing bowls to balance out-of-harmony chakras and re-energise the auric field. When used as part of sound therapy, singing bowls not only heal but can also help with pain management. From a Buddhist perspective, singing bowls represent the offering of sound, which creates the causes to be able to listen to the Dharma in this and future lives.

The positive energies produced by singing bowls can improve the energy in the surrounding area. When used in combination with holy items like chakras and protection amulets, the sounds that permeate the space will also carry the blessings of the amulet i.e. the blessings of the Buddhas.

The best singing bowls are traditionally made from seven different types of metals - gold, silver, copper, iron, tin, mercury and lead.

About Dorje Shugden

Dorje Shugden is a special Dharma Protector who quickly fulfils wishes and sincere prayers. He brings healing, harmony and peace, protects from harm and obstacles, and attracts opportunities for success and growth.

Known as a wealth Buddha, he brings sincere devotees vast merits and material resources for virtuous activities. As a wrathful emanation of Manjushri, he grants improved concentration, clarity of mind and great wisdom to anyone who propitiates him.

Rimming Method

  • Hold the bowl on the flat of your palm. Ensure that your palm does not mute the bowl or prevent it from vibrating freely.
  • Applying even pressure, rub a ringing stick clockwise around the rim of the bowl.
  • Experiment with the wood and suede surfaces, the speed of moving the ringing stick, the angle of contact and the amount of pressure until you are satisfied with the tone and volume.
  • It is important to apply even pressure using your arm instead of your wrist.

Striking Method

  • Hold the bowl on the flat of your palm or place it on a singing bowl cushion.
  • Ensure that your palm does not mute the bowl or prevent it from vibrating freely.
  • Using a felt mallet or the wood/suede surface of a ringing stick, strike the singing bowl at the rim from the side.
  • Do not strike too far down or from above as the bowl will not vibrate properly.
  • The harder you strike, the louder and more powerful the tone.
  • Do not strike too hard as the sound will become metallic and unpleasant.
